Premium Organic Black Pepper – 100g
Pure, certified-organic peppercorns from the spice hills of Kerala.
Our organic black pepper is grown the way it has been for centuries — on traditional pepper vines climbing shade trees, in soil enriched only by composted leaves, cow dung and forest litter. No synthetic inputs ever touch the vine. The berries are left to redden on the plant, harvested at peak maturity by hand, and sun-dried on clean drying yards until each peppercorn turns deep, wrinkled and aromatic. This slow, chemical-free process is what gives organic pepper its characteristic sharper heat, complex aroma and higher piperine content compared to conventionally produced pepper.
What Makes This Pepper Organic?
- Certified organic plantations in Wayanad and Idukki, audited annually by accredited organic certification bodies.
- Zero synthetic chemicals — no urea, no chemical pesticides, no fungicides, no growth regulators.
- Natural pest management using neem, panchagavya and beneficial insects.
- Hand-harvested at full maturity, not picked early for higher yield.
- Solar drying only — no chemical drying, no fumigation, no irradiation.
- Hand-cleaned and hand-sorted — we do not use machine polishing or added colour to make the corns look uniform.
Flavour & Aroma
Organic pepper has a noticeably brighter, more layered character than commodity pepper. You will taste an initial citrus-pine top note, followed by warm woody depth, and a clean, persistent heat that lingers without becoming harsh. Crush a corn between your fingers and the essential oils release immediately — that aromatic burst is the marker of authentic, naturally dried pepper.
How to Use
- Freshly crack over salads, soups, eggs, pasta, grilled meats and roasted vegetables for maximum aroma.
- Use whole in stocks, broths, biryani, pickling brines and slow-cooked curries.
- Coarse-grind into rasam, pepper chicken, kali mirch paneer and Indo-Chinese stir-fries.
- Steep a few crushed corns in hot water with ginger & tulsi for a traditional immunity tea.
Health Benefits
Black pepper is more than a seasoning. The piperine in pepper has been shown to enhance the bioavailability of curcumin and other nutrients, support digestion, stimulate metabolism and act as a natural antioxidant. Because our pepper is grown organically and dried naturally, you get these benefits without the residual chemical load that can accompany conventionally cultivated peppercorns.
Storage
Keep in an airtight container, away from direct sunlight and heat. Grind only what you need, when you need it — the aroma is at its peak the moment the corn is cracked.
