Premium Green Tea — the antioxidant daily drink
Our green tea comes from high-altitude Indian hill plantations where cool temperatures and slow growth produce leaves rich in catechins (EGCG), theanine, and the delicate flavour that distinguishes premium green tea from commercial tea bags.
Why loose-leaf green tea is better
- Larger leaf size: Full leaves retain more flavour compounds than broken “dust” in tea bags.
- Fresh steeping: You control steep time precisely.
- Better aroma: Essential oils remain in whole leaves.
- No packaging additives: Just tea.
How to brew perfect green tea
- Heat water to 75-80°C (NOT boiling — green tea becomes bitter at 100°C).
- 1 tsp loose leaves per cup.
- Pour hot water, steep 2-3 minutes only.
- Strain. Drink without milk or sugar for best flavour (honey optional).
Health benefits
Green tea is one of the most studied functional beverages: EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate) shows antioxidant activity; L-theanine supports calm-alert mental state; moderate caffeine (30-50mg per cup, half of coffee) gives gentle energy; regular consumption is linked in studies to supported metabolism and cardiovascular health.
Storage
Airtight opaque container away from light, moisture, and strong odours. 1 year peak freshness sealed. Once opened, use within 6 months for best aroma.
FAQ
How many cups can I drink daily? 2-4 cups daily is generally considered safe for most adults. More may add excessive caffeine.
Can I add milk? Traditional green tea is drunk without milk. Milk binds catechins, reducing some antioxidant benefit.
Why does my green tea taste bitter? Water too hot or steeped too long. 75-80°C water, 2-3 min steep, maximum.
Does green tea help weight loss? Modest metabolic support when combined with diet and exercise. Not a magic solution.
Can I drink green tea at night? It has less caffeine than coffee, but still enough to disturb sleep. Avoid within 4 hours of bedtime.
